Business group overview: Employees in Intel's Digital Home Group (DHG) design and implement leading technologies, hardware, software and platforms that enable superior consumer computing experience. The DHG Consumer Client Group (CCG) is architecting the next generations of Intel® architecture digital home PCs and consumer devices. This includes processors, chipsets and wireless technology that are optimized for experiences in the home network.
Responsibilities
Principal Engineers at Intel are active technical leaders inside and outside the company. Activities include participation in major industry and academic conferences, voting membership in international standards committees, generation of patents and technical papers. In this position, you will be responsible for defining the graphics and media roadmap requirements for the future generations of the digital home Intel® architecture consumer PC clients such as entertainment PCs, lifestyle PCs and other innovative PCs that are targeted at consumers. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Investigating specific issues related to achieving consumer electronics video quality and competitive gaming graphics for the PC including physics engines and for driving changes and direction in integrated graphics and add-on graphics
- Working with architecture team, cross-functional teams, chipset teams, processor teams, planning, and engineering extended teams to ensure platforms, processors and chipsets meet requirements for feature set, functionality, cost, power, and performance targets
- Providing leadership in architectural forums, planning meetings and all aspects necessary to get the next generation graphics and media architecture into Intel® products
Qualifications
You should possess a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with more than eight years of experience in architecting graphics and media hardware. Additional qualifications include:
- Thorough understanding graphics and media processing including hardware and software issues
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to seamlessly work across groups
- Must be able to work with minimal direction and ambiguity to specifics
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience with graphics hardware implementation, gaming consoles, home entertainment systems, and audio/video processing would be an added advantage
