Ok, I have had this problem before with Ingres but that was some years ago and I have spent the last 4 days trying to recall the solution and several hours on line to no avail.
It is a simple select statement from a postgres db that the user wants to import into excel ... however there are (circumflex) ^M control characters in the output which I recall are carriage returns.
How do I strip these and maintain the row.
Thanks ... I am going to feel foolish after I get the solution.
