Hi all,

I just have a question about my machine. I have a Windows 2000 advanced server and when i login to this box, before my desktop loads, i see a small command prompt popping out at the left corner of the screen which reads something like UserLoginCtl or something like that.

Is this normal and is that one of the windows processes? Please throw some light onto this issue and let me know what this process is all about and is there a way to turn this off or not.

I had lot of problems with this box and suddenly this appears. I just am wondering if this is something new or is it a normal behavior.

Thanks in advance
sam

My guess is that it is a service. Since the desktop is the explorer kernel and after that programs can load, it can't be a separate program. That only leaves services. Services are loaded right after logon so that does make sense.
