Get HTTP 500 Internal Server Error with Classic ASP

I am using IIS 5.1 for doing classic ASP. My machine is a Win XP Pro with SP2. I have created a virtual directory on my system and an index.asp page. I am trying to browse that page but it gives me HTTP error 500 Internal Server Error. I have given rights to my own Windows user and Windows Authentication has been selected. I have also given all relevant permissions on the directory.

Please help.
