I'm and applications developer with very little experience in scripting (other than SQL scripts :D) and I need some direction/help with a small project.
I recently moved my web site to a new hosting service and they have the directories locked down so that I can't just put files in a directory, have people go there and get a directory list and then click on the file that they want to download. I use this directory to put up new releases of software to clients and I don't want to have to maintain an index file with a listing of available downloads. Especially when clients usually like to see a time stamp too. :(
I need a script that I can call from the index page that will build a directory list for me with files names and timestamps of the file last modified date. My website does allow scripting but I'm not sure what all kinds I can use. It's a Linux server and has cgi bin.
I'm pretty sure that there are probably some scripts out there that will work for what I need but I don't have any idea what to search on to find them or what they will be called.
Help!!! Please? :D
Thanks
Kim
