Hi,

Well!! i have a little problem here. I am a businessman in Pakistan and in no way related to the IT Industry though i have great affection for technology. Therefore, I am planning to deploy CCTV Cameras in my factory and connect them to my Server through the Ethernet Port. That seems quite simple, but the real thing is that i want to view and gain remote access from my home to the cameras connected to my server. For this i think i'll be needing a DSL connection for the server. The DSL availability is not so sure in my area but yes i can get ISDN connection.

What solution i can think of is this that, i should get an ISDN connection for my server where i have connected the Cameras. Thats all for the Server Part. I have a DSL Connection at my home. Therefore i won't be needing a faster connection at home but at all other places only the Dial-up connection is available which i guess would be a great pain in *** for video streaming. So what could be done??

What i am seeking for is a comprehensive solution to the problem, like, what sort of connection should i get, which software would be used for Remote Connectivity and Access, what user rights are required and all the details. If someone helps then it would be a great favour .

Thanks & Regards
Rizwan Sattar

1) Well dude, no one gets paid here to provide solutions. Everyone here is busy, just like you and they spare some time (which is very valuable to them as well) for helping others.

2) You posted almost when the rest of the world is celebrating christmes, also looking forward for new year and you expect a swift reply, cool.

3) This is not the right place for tyhis question. The question belongs to General Developer Topics (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=19)

4) If you want a better connectivity solution, alternative to dial-ups, then find any Internet Service Provider, which provides you a better connection. Since you are from Pakistan, if you are willing to pay $4,000/month, then you can get 2 M.B bandwidth from PTCL for yourself. Other alternatives can be dedicated connections, fixed bandwidth, open bandwidth packages from your favourite Internet Service Provider.

5) For remote access, if you are using windows server (which with your cameras in your factory are connected), then you can create a terminal session with it remotely and do whatever you want.

6) For a very accurate and instant solution, you can find some one providing network consultancy. You can go to Corvet or NETS. Good luck :thumb:
