Subreport link problem

Hi,

When i am linking subreport from the main report does the field should have been selected as report field in both main report and subreport. I have invoice# in my main report and subreport, when i try to link subreport through main report through invoice# and when i go to subreport design tab and click on file - print preview it asks for parameter my assumption was that it automatically run the second report. By the way i am using crystal report10. Please help me

If the subreport has parameters you have give value to them

It is working in CR9 although both reports have same field
