We need a developer to work on an install package for our application. This package should install new version of the
application or upgrade any existing version of the application to the newer version or uninstall the application from an
installed machine.
The install package should install all dependent components of the application to function. After running the the application
install, the application should be usable without any manual steps or additional installations. The package shall be created
using Wise (preferred) or InstallShield .
The package should beable to install/upgrade/uninstall client database, content, reports,interface with 3rd party systems,
and documentation. The install package should be tested and certified on Win98/NT/2k/2003, SQL Server 7/2k, Oracle 8i/9i/9i
R@ (on Unix/Linux/Windows). The package also should be compatible with common desktop applications.
Skills:
- Extensive experience of Wise for Windows Installer and other repackaging solutions (SysDiff, SMS Installer, WinInstall,
InstallShield Professional for Windows Installer)
- Experienced packaging applications in both open and locked down environments.
- Produced packages for both internally written and 3rd Party Applications
- Experienced in breaking down Packages into reusable components
- Perform File, Registry and Resource conflict resolution
- Experienced with performing Quality Assurance checks
- Fault resolution of application deployment and runtime failures
- Thorough Knowledge of Windows NT4/2000/XP Workstation & Server
- Thorough knowledge Microsoft Windows Installer Service
- Strong Visual Basic/VBScript
