I have been using ASP.Net with the MS development environment for some time without any problems. One day I downloaded an ASP.Net project from codeguru, unzipped it and created a virtual directory expecting to be able to work/compile the code. But instead got an error opening the project to the effect,

"Visual Studio cannot create or open the application. The likeliest problem is that required components are not installed locally. Run visual studio .NET setup and add the web development component".

What does that mean exactly? I then realized if a copied one of my working projects to a new directory and create a virtual directory for it, I would get the same error.

There must be an extra step in moving projects around that I am not aware of. I would appreciate it if soneone could enlighten me. :-)

thanks in advace

the solution is....unistall MS Visual studio, format the hard disk, install Linux and configure Apache & PHP!
good luck!
