Hi

Someone I know have developed a pretty complex Excelsheet which he is considering selling, but how can he protect it from being copied and sold again. Does anyone know how a file can be protected from being copied.

As far as I know, there is no way you will be able to protect it. The best you can do is protect the fields from accidentally being over written but even then its not going to stop anyone from copying the file.

The best advice I can give is, if it is really that complicated and valuable, create a project in VB or VC++ if your a little adventurous, and distribute that. The safety of that will at least be slightly more complicated than a simple copy-paste of a file.
