Modem install manually, please help me....

I would like to install a new modem but no matter how hard I have tried to ask the system automatically accept my .ini file from CD, I havent had any further success...
That is why I would like to ask you if you could tell me where the modem ini files are actually located in system so that I can pick my new ini file from CD and lay it in that directory..But does that method also work ?
