does anyone know if it's possible to get original windows source code somewhere? It would be cool to see how some things are implemented...
I heard that governments and universities have it, but i don't expect them to just give it to ordinary people like us.

Windows is an closed-source operating system. Meaning that you cannot see or change the source code on your own. However, you can register with Microsoft and license some kind of program which will allow you to take a look at the code. Nevertheless, needless to say that it will cost a fairly high amount of dollars.
