Random Number generator

I have heard of this on board many times, now I try creating myself an app that shows me how the number generated, I really need some advice to start.
I also watched some demo applets about this in a page by some schools in England but it was long ago, I forgot the page, I wonder why the dots drawn gets disappeared although the app is still going on...and then new dots are born and then and then repeatedly. but my mouse doesnot go dead as in case I use a while or for loop...
Do you know how that can be ?
