file opearations take more time on xp

file opeartions(fopen,fclose,fread,fwrite) take more time on windows XP.Please let me know as why it happens so.I did test the timings,it took longer time in XP but lesser time on WINDOWS 2000

Well...can you post your results here? I am in the process of doing similar tests since I experienced these kind of 'performance' problems under XP as well.

However, I am doing that aside my normal workload, thus, it might take a while (since I do not even have XP installed on my development machine)...
