max length for octet string in AD?

when extending schema for AD, if i don't specify a limit on the length of the octet string, does that mean there is no limit on the length? or is there a hard limit on the max length?

There's probably an internal limit...think about it, octet string...I don't remember a lot about xml, but I'm assuming it's an 8k string perhaps?...i doubt it'd be 8bits or 8 bytes
