Summary:

At Macromedia Software Engineers are the very center of product innovation and development. This is an opportunity to join an elite development team constructing award winning tools and products which provide the easiest way for individuals and teams to update, create, and publish web content to any HTML website.

Responsibilities:

· Design solutions and create specifications for building and enhancing our web editing and publishing tools.
· Develop and implement product features and components according to specifications in both Windows (MFC) and Mac (PowerPlant) environments.
· Integrate our tools with internet technologies such as web servers, web browsers, Java applications, SQL DBs, etc.
· Interact with QA Engineers and Product Managers to assure absolute quality and product features offering a compelling user experience.
· Collaborate regularly and provide leadership for engineering colleagues on development techniques, standards, methods and code sharing.
· Mentor and lead less senior Engineers.


Requirements:
· Minimum eight years experience in a product oriented development effort.
· Expert level skills in C++, HTML, CSS, Mac OS X, MS Windows and object oriented programming environments in general.
· Proficiency in Java, Java2EE and SQL
· Ability and desire to share your software engineering knowledge and talents with others in a highly collaborative environment.
· Demonstrated ability to deliver industrial strength components on time and within budget.

Ideal:
· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar degree with an engineering focus. Master's degree in computer science preferred.
· Experience in development of products targeted for cross platform environments.
· A strong orientation and acuity for the user experience.
· Experience building tools for Web editing and publishing.
