You would join our existing team of bright technical experts and software professionals to work on our market-leading Windows desktop data analysis family of products.
The role will include the continued development of a complex market leading software product used within the dynamic highly technical mobile telecoms market. You will be developing Windows-based applications using Microsoft tools and technologies including COM ATL. The applications have both a complex visual GUI and an extensive back-end data analysis engine. You will take a lead role in the development of the products which will include utilising your extensive OO software development experience, working with domain experts to provide innovative designs and implementations that are focused on delivering solutions that solve our customers’ requirements. The position requires a self-motivated person with strong investigative and problem-solving skills. You will be working within small teams taking responsibility for the full development process to ensure a successful timely delivery of the software. You will be required to co-ordinate and report on the activity of the team prioritizing and mentoring the other team members. You would really champion and technically lead your projects, coordinating and driving other teams’ activity to integrate into your own projects.
You will need:
at least 5 years’ software development experience working on complex applications
last 3 years spent working in Visual C++ with ATL/COM
2 years' recent experience of championing your own development projects & coordinating development activity integrating with other teams
decision making skills – enhanced by experience of being empowered to gain results through development projects
a hands-on pragmatic approach to problem-solving, combined with good theoretical and practical experience of techniques and approaches
Additional experience / qualifications which would be advantageous:
telecoms technology
degree in Computer Science or similar
You will have a practical attitude and a flexible approach to work with a positive and self-starting style; you get results working on your own and through others.
