i have windows XP with SP1 installed on my computer.When i connect to the internet,sometimes,or from time to time,it appears an warning from NT Authority?! and tells me that an RPC expcetion has occured,and the sistem will restart in 1 minute.
what is that? can XP do something like this,or it si some virus?

a blast,yeah,but you know what is the reason?how can i avoid this shutdowns?

yes just search for blaster on google and download the fixes or instructions...

and for gods sake, get a firewall, XP has a default IP filter built into it, along with windows 2000.
turn it on, block all incoming ports.
should be under control panel, network/dial up connections,your LAN connection, properties, highlight tcp/ip, properties, advanced, options,tcp/ip filtering, enable IP filtering all adaptors, allow only (don't allow any which is hte default) and don't change the entries unless you know the TCP IP protocol and what you are allowing in.
