hi,

i made a few small programs for a organization i was working for.

i would like to know,

if i made the programs just to work on their computers can i still request that this organization stops using these programs also i programed there database (i did not design the database) is it possible to ask that that code is deleted from there database.

and ifg all thhat is possible what is the best cuase of action to get tham to comply with my requested and would i have any come back if there refuse to comply ?

Well...I am not a lawyer, however, as far as I remember, if you were employed and got paid for doing these applications, then the copyright basically is by your company - disregarding that you have programmed these.

I'd say you don't have the right to take it from them if you didn't have a written agreement.

In effect, you gave it to them and then decided that you really didn't want them to have it.

the organization is the location i was based but i did not work for the company that is using my programs would this effect your advice in any way ?

no papers where signed and it my understanding that if i make a program that is than my property unless i sign it off our make it freewear, i am not sure about this but it would work within the cop[yright law i think.

If you recieved a salary while writing a program it is my understanding that it belongs to the company that hired you.

If they want to give out copies to sister companies or if it's really bad, competitors, that's their right.

If you were contracted out and recieved a base pay for only the software provided, then it was up to your written agreement who "owned" the source code. From your comments, it sounds like you are in the former group.

If you worked on these programs entirely off site, and you used your own software to write them with, and you then "give" them to your company then I'd assume that unless you specifically tell them that these exe's are not to be distributed, then they can.

In this case they don't have the source code right?

the Company has Agreed to delete all copies of program and now i am just awaiting conformation that they have completed this task.
