Event Log Settings/Properties

Hi,
Is there a way to recieve/change the Win Event Log settings (properties) during runtime?
(for example. changing the size of a log, changing the overwritting setting, etc.)

I'm just learning about the event logs, so...be gentle...

You can change the appropriate Registry-Settings
(HKLM\system\Current...\Services\Eventlog\...)

However, changes may become effective only after reboot, or when the log file has been deleted.
