oracle portal development

I want to how to interact with an external application in portal developnment..the external application is developed in some other software may be Visual Basic..
in my portal i want to provide a link as portlet in portal for that application..
a user enters into a portal should navigate through that application..

so you want your portal visitors to run your vb app on line ?

It is possible...but not as an app but as an activeX control...

I tried it only once...hope I am not wrong...
