Need suggestion on Project

well sorry to bother u all but we (my group in collage) are messed up in selecting the final project of our BCS programme.
the problem is what should we select as our fianl project we are not concerned with the programming tool but we are worried about what should we select , if any one of u has any idea or some suggection we will be really really greatfull to u.

Do you have a list of projects to select from, or are you suppossed to come up with your own project.

If you are suppossed to come up with your own project, what are the guidelines or requirements that your professor wants to see ?

i know the thing about professors but to tell u the truth there is no good help available if there is he dont have time.
thass why some one told us to goto to discussions forums they can help u.

Your assignment is to just write any program? You were not given any guidelines as the the type of application you need to write ?

I would expected that the professor would give you something along the lines of:

1. The project must be written in C++ or <Insert Language here>
2. The project must use classes and C++ structures
3. The project must use inheritance
4. The project must use <insert any other concept here>

So, what kind of project are you looking to develop ?

Actually it depends on what you are really upto, and you want to do.
to make things simple go for a web designing work, you may take any topic, just see codeguru.com, how the site is organized, and make your own site, similar to that.

or if you want to go for network related work, then java may be good solution,

if you want to work in linux related areas, then you can prefer some c++ or socket programming.

But personally I prefer a project in vc++( I am doing now in vc++ only), because it may fetch you a job for your knowledge in that.
