Saving Fonts as GIF

Does anybody know of any software that would enable me to save fonts as a GIF or JPEG file.

I have some fonts which I want to use when I create web pages. On the other hand, Is there a way of inserting fonts onto a web page???

I have never tried a thing like that...but I know of a site that has done so....They use java script to include their font on the web page...I dont know if true type fonts work....

see the site and select an option on it for hindi / gujrati / or some other language (non english) and see it's source....
