Cambire was created to provide a solution to students for the rising price of college textbooks. The site was launched on the fall semester of 2000 to allow a true exchange of textbooks to college students. Practically in a college campus one student might take algebra last semester and another student might take psychology. If this semester the student who took algebra last semester takes psychology and the student who took psychology takes algebra, it makes sense these two students can exchange their textbooks rather than buying new ones. We were created to provide such as service. To make the service possible, we have created a true-exchange engine to connect students together from various colleges and universities to enable them to exchange their textbooks. Since the launch of the website we have received a lot of positive feedback from various papers.

Lately, we have decided it would be in the student’s interest to make the engine available to students themselves, so they can set it up at their local schools or on any server they want. We are in the process of upgrading our software to make it more capable. To do that, we need some help. While we cannot afford to pay developers now since we are not making any money; because of the service we provide, we think some developers may be interested in helping us. Our products are not geared toward students only. They do have other applications.

While we cannot provide monetary compensation to developers who would like to help us, we can make them a part of the organization. We can provide them materials if needed such as books and software to help us. I know C and C++; I am looking for help in the area of ASP, Visual Basic, SQL, and ActiveX. C# maybe useful as well; so let me know if you can help us. I will appreciate it. Your help will be worthwhile. Location does not matter, you can be anywhere in the world in order to help us.

Visit our website Cambire.com for more information. I look forward to hear from you.
