I have problem with MS SQL Server during installation
firstly there was no problem with Standard Edition, then I uninstalled that and tried to install Enterprise Edition
and faced the following problem:
at the end of the installation the following message appears "... refer to sqlstd.log file"

now I have the same problem with Standard Edition

(I tried to install SQL Server on another computer, the same problem)

Look in the file and see what details it gives for where it fails at.

I have seen this before and I believe you just need to go in an rip out the SQL Server registry items (of course this you can cause issues doing this so take care).

Usually they are easy to spot and look like this

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
