I am a second year student currently studying for a computer science degree and wondered if anyone would be able to help me answer a few questions that I have?
I am writing an essay on the developer networks of six major companies. These being: IBM, Microsoft, SUN, Novell, BEA and HP. To help build up a picture of each company I am attempting to answer the following:
The number of subscribers/developers using the technology, both high level salaried staff and unpaid.
The resources available to these developers in terms of number of support staff and allocated budgets.
The internal organisation of the developer program and the department(s) responsible.
The budget in terms of the investment into developer services and also the revenue generated.
I have attempted to contact the companies directly but so far they have been less than helpful.
Any help that anyone can offer with this, or any other relevant information they can provide, would be gratefully received.
