How do you turn a program window image, i.e. the first screen of any .exe application into a picture that you can use in the interent?

OR

Another example is those images that you see on books showing the process of instruction, how do you turn those into actual pictures?

Make which ever window you want to capture active(click on it)

press Alt + Print Screen

open paint brush and paste (enlarge bitmap if needed)
If no windows are active, the entire screen will be captured. experiment them!

And what do you mean by "first screen"? The Splash Screen ?

I tried to capture a few splash Screen! but it does not wok this way...

You will have to try a few resource editors...
