I was wondering, if you ppl could share your thoughts about the current trend in IT jobs at your respective countires.

This is just my humble opinion for the USA. ;)

Corporate management has come around and decided that they understand what IT requirements are necessary for their business models.

What does this mean? It means that companies in which their main business is something other than IT, are starting to outsource all of their IT needs to IT service companies. So, if a company's main interest is retail, they are moving to a skeleton IT staff that deals with outside vendors to provide their IT needs.

A lot of work is beginning to drift to "offshore" IT centers. Labor is cheaper.

Salaries are going down or not growing at the rate they once were.
