Sounds like a good deal to me... Okay I don't remember it exactly but you get it by multiplying the 100th digit of "e" with the exact altitude of the ISS and then alternating the digits with a synonym for "supreme". I haven't exactly logged in very often. So, Xeon, now you're going to change my Member status to "The holy one," right?

Now, that's insensible, Solar. While it is ok for everyone to be able to change their descriptive text labels, it is NOT ok for everyone to be able to change the SIZE of their avatars, co' it's gonna make everything look as though they're in He||.

Picture this : Yves uses a 600 * 600 pixels avatar photo of himself eating chicken chop at midnight, and Amn has a 10 * 600 pixels avatar photo of him watching the sunset while standing on Saturn.

Noo.....never! :p
Platinum Plus was originally just Platinum, but he coded in C++ and actually attained the highest level of coding possible, and e actually bio-merge(fuse together) with the C++ programming language.
In other words, the C++ language flows in his veins, and his thoughts and object-oriented thinking is 100% the same as that of C++. Wow......

How about adding Xeon, and that would make it the 4 kings of Codeguru?
Please Brad! Com'on!

On the other hand, this list is making me berserk! I mean, to keep and boost member loyalty, Brad and gang really should put the names of those more regular members in another group under that same page too, such as :

Most Regular Super Members:

Gabriel Fleseriu

Simon666

.

.

Just look at CodeProject and what they did to their members! Darn!
Now, Yves......as an almighty moderator who's in charge of so many forums, u really should represent us and raise our voices for us. Something like a mayor and the White House, speaking on behalf of the people.
Now, this is a really good way of being a moderator.
And when you leave in future, we would all respect you greatly, like Abraham Lincoln and such, and we could even have collectibles in your name, just like the way the USA military has this frigate called "The USS Abraham Lincoln".

Could be! I'm sending my research team over to check this out.
Also, Koffee Annan, the General-Secretary of the United Nations, have supported me in this. In fact, he even says that this is a more practical move than the one regarding the Iraq issue.

Nothing insulting? Read CBasicNet's post again, then:

The reason why we have usernames is exactly to hide our identity. There is no clause in the Usage Policy that states that a user has to be truthful about his age, gender or any other personal information. And using a photo as an avatar is perfectly ok, as long as the photo is not copyrighted. No one sais that you must use a photo of yourself. The question if that photo is of somebody else, and whether this person is aware of tha use of his/her photo is pure speculation. If someone has the right to complain, then it is the person in the photo.

I see no reason of playing detective and trying to "unmask" somebody. The "Xeon = Plat. Plus" thread was left alive only because both Xeon and Platinium seemd to agree to play this game and didn't complain. So don't push it.

Really! This is new to me! The truth is : I never visited any singapore-based forums. The only web site I visited 98% of the time whenever I go online is Codeguru.com and maybe once in a blue moon, some US-based software/game web sites. Visiting other forums is a total waste of time. And oh. I DO visit porn sites, but once in a while. Everyone who has visited these sites before, please own up now. Thank you.(we're all real men here!)

People, jokes are mostly Ok, but I think it is not fair to talk about Kandukondein the way you do. I suggest you drop that topic.

Yes, Gabriel is right. Coming to think of it, it's real mean and gurls dislike mean guys, Simon. I mean, if u wanna be a bad guy, at least be an affectionate and gallant bad villian, k? There's 2 kinda bad : mean-nasty types and those gallant-and-evil type.

Yves M is a good example of the 2nd type. He's the ganglord in my mafia, and though he's considered a villian in the eyes of Justice, he's not mean and instead, he's chilvarous(wrong spelling! arrggh!) and give candies and cute bears to little gurls. Ohhh.......how sweeet!

Real men always behave like real men. They do a bad/wrong thing, and they own up instead of covering up their tracks.
Even if I start a thread and post 150 working links to 150 dirty sites and Brad knows it, I wouldn't even delete them away myself, cos' this is how real men behave. They do wrong things, admit their mistakes, do some soul-searching, own up and apologies, correct their behaviour and become a better person.

There is a reason for that.

Previously I thought removing a post was the solution to avoid problems with a moderator.

Recently I think removing a moderator is the solution to avoid problems with a post.

Simon,

If you have a problem with a moderator then I suggest you tell Brad about it. Gabriel was correct to point out that discussions about the private life of forum members doesn't belong here. Moderators on a board are in my view important (not only because I am one, please believe me ;)). A moderator has as a duty to remind people of the board's policy and this may not always sound very nice. But it's something which you and all other users (also the other mods) have to accept. So when a moderator reminds you of the policy it is best that you shove away your pride and apply it. If you don't agree with the policy then you can always email the administrator (Brad).

I hate to see people fighting, so please don't.

Yes and I do understand that the above comment was meant to be ironic, but think of how you can hurt people's feelings. Xeon and Plat+ didn't get offended or at least didn't say so, but that doesn't mean nobody gets offended.

Alerting people like Xeon that people on the internet are not always who they claim to be is rather a good work. Everybody should be aware of that. Claiming somebody is not the person in their avatar (which in case of a miss world is very likely to be not an actual member) is hardly discussing ones private life.

Here's a secret : When Simon first started the "Xeon == Platinum Plus" thread, our good father, the Lord Brad Jones, actually descended from the Heavens and asked me if he should use his infinite powers to delete that thread away. Something like the way the island Atlantis was destroyed and sank underwater by the gods.(a popular legend)
But because I'm darn kind by nature and I'm so saintly, I told him it's ok. So Simon got away scot-free.

Simon is ungrateful, though. He's biting the hand that feeds him!

Yeah, but my comment that people should take into account other people's feelings still applies. I mean you can be sarcastic with the people who you know will understand this, but just don't assume this to be true with everybody.

I don't mind if Simon thinks I'm an elephant (although I'd have to try very hard to trumpet as hard as that animal ;) ), but other poeple might resent things. So the best rule to follow is that you are not "familiar / ironic / sarcastic" with them unless you know they take it the way you meant your comment. Don't underestimate the differences in culture there are between different people.

In short respect other people and don't assumme too much. This seems obvious but unfortunately it isn't.

No it is not a secret. Take a look over here (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=610748&highlight=Brad#post610748). By looking at "Who's online" I noticed Brad replying to this thread so I quickly posted that post requesting for things to be cleared up. I already guessed he asked (both of) you whether I was allowed to continue and whether you would like me to keep guessing. Which is not nice, it took me a long time before I finally found proof of Xeon and Platinum being different. :( So don't give me that "Don't bite the hand..." speach.

a) You don't have any and you code for food.
b) You can't remember where it is because you're at a terminal stage of Alzheimer.

I've seen such cases before on this site. For point a) AND point b). :D
