The question I am asking myself is: is Xeon Platinum Plus. In this thread I will bring up indications that firmly points in this direction. But I would like your opinion too. Let me know what you think.

Simon666
October 17th, 2002, 12:39 PM
Indication 1 :

Look at this thread (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=210677). Note They both seem to enjoy talking about girls (correct spelling).

Pro :

1. This is typically Xeon-like : a question is being answered off-topic and continues to be off-topic. Both Xeon and Platinum Plus no longer pay any attention to the question of the original poster.
2. They both seem to enjoy talking about girls. It seems to be the chance to talk all about himself and his obsessions.
3. The posts alternate perfectly : first one says something then the other. Watch other long threads and you will see that sometimes there are two posts in reaction to a previous one, in order to react also on a part that hasn't been read carefully or to correct something. Extra suspicious is also the total absence of edits to all the posts in that thread (up to now).
4. They both like chicken chops.

Contra :

1. If I am correct, Xeon might be a dangerous psychopath or at least have a split personality. I don't like this thought. I hope they are different in that respect.
2. It may just be that tastes are alike in certain countries, presumably Asian countries since both know Chinese.

Indication 2 :

Take a look at this thread (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=213270). Note that Xeon suggests to look at Platinum's signature, suggesting it's either French or Spanish.

Pro :

1. Xeon hardly knows any French, and nothing of Spanish. Yet he seems to know somehow that it is Spanish. The timing of the use of the Spanish sign is also suspicious, Platinum has no reasons to use a Spanish sign. Platinum probably doesn't know Spanish either, yet Xeon might have reasons to use one as Platinum, for reasons which will not be disclosed here.
2. Note that Platinum Plus apparently knows Chinese, just as Xeon. Coincidence?
3. Also in this thread it appears that Platinum is at age around 30, and he joined at 2 september this year, while appears to be around 18 (if his claims are correct), and he joined at 7 juli two years ago. How can a schoolboy find this forum earlier than a programmer, while they are yet so alike in attitude and of background?

Contra :

1. Platinum Plus claims in this thread to have started programming at age 25, while Xeon is supposed to be 18.

Indication 3 :

Take a look at this thread (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=211733&highlight=Platinum). Note Xeon and Platinum nominating each other for moderator.

Pro :

1. Xeon has aspirations himself for becoming more powerful on codeguru, this has been proven in the past. It would make little sense to nominate Platinum instead.
2. Platinum first brings it up, while Xeon murmeling something about a busy schedule (spreading nonsense on codeguru being called "busy schedule"?) cleverly turns it down and reverses the nomination to Platinum. Very clever manipulation if true.

Contra :

1. He could indeed be busy, he has already shown he can program, although he has a lot of time to waste over here.
2. Xeon and clever in one sentence, and in one of my posts? This got to be new.

Indication 4 :

Great thanks to Garret Headley for this one.

Pro :

1. The spelling of 'Xeon' looks a lot like 'Xenon', the noble gas element. And then there is 'Platinum', another element from the periodic table. And as you have already pointed out, spelling is not really a strong point with regards to Xeon/Platinum.

Contra :

1. Probably too far fetched?

Indication 5 :

Take a look at this post (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=589553&highlight=platinum+AND+plan#post589553). Note his mentioning of several paycards.

Pro :

1. Xeon seems to have something with paycards, and what is Platinum Plus do you think? You can also perform a search on this forum proving Xeon has something with gold (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201086&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) and silver (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201094&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending). In the latter case, a **** is involved, silvergirl_7. This leads to suspicion that Xeon wants his own alter ego, preferably something that refers to a precious metal.
2. Take a look at this search result (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201058&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending&pagenumber=3). This is a very strong indication of my point. Xeon mentions first the Platinum Plan and seems to meet Platinum afterwards. It would be a very big coincidence to mention more or less the name of someone you haven't met before.

Contra :

1. If they are different, it could be he mentioned this because he was impressed with the finding of a similar soul one day before the "Platinum Plan" post in the "Where are you from", in this post (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=592563&highlight=Platinum#post589029), although Xeon only reacted and got impressed with Platinum 6 days later, if you scroll down the thread.
2. Xeon could have got impressed with Platinum earlier than that, Platinum got member on 2 september 2002, while the Platinum Plan mentioning is at 11 september 2002, a bit short to get impressed with someone, but with Xeon you never now. Platinum posted in the VB forum, so Xeon maybe got impressed with Platinum, but the earliest indication he did is after the post in the "Where are we from" thread, namely over here (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=591177&highlight=Platinum#post591177), which is three days later.

Indication 6 :

Take a look at this search (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201173&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=ascending). It shows all Platinum's posts.

Pro's :

1. If Xeon indeed intended to create Platinum Plus as a more serious version of himself, it clearly shows. It is serious at first, but afterwards you find more and more other posts going towards some form of "Xeonism".
2. Look at this search (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201177&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending&pagenumber=11) and this search (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201180&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending). It shows Xeon is also relatively new to the VB forum, there are little posts, just as Platinum, who recently joined. Also note the post about getting the date in VB, remember also the little program Xeon was working on and his problems with COleDateTime extensively posted in the VC++ forum. Coincidence? I don't think so.
3. Look at this search (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201187&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) and read this post (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=587229&highlight=.NET#post587229). Platinum knows little about .NET but is interested in moving towards it, as is Xeon if he had the money.
4. Look at this post (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=604173#post604173) and this post (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=116508&highlight=MS+AND+Press). Apparently, although Platinum knows little about .NET, he does have experience with buying from MS Press for some other use, and Xeon too. I never even knew Microsoft had its own Press, but then again Micro$oft. Coincidence?

Contra's:

1. There are no posts of Platinum in the VC++ forum, while Xeon has a lot there. Yet, if Platinum is intended to be more mature and not about girls, it could make sense not to post anything you don't know much about.

Aha, maybe Brad can clarify things hopefully. I was just beginning to sum up all arguments.

Garrett Headley
October 17th, 2002, 01:03 PM
Another argument for:

The spelling of 'Xeon' looks a lot like 'Xenon', the noble gas element. And then there is 'Platinum', another element from the periodic table. And as you have already pointed out, spelling is not really a strong point with regards to Xeon/Platinum.

I strongly believe Xeon is Simon is Maggie. For starters:

1) Xeon - Simon - Maggie are all C++ Gurus YET Platinum is VB
2) Xeon - Simon have posts over 1000 YET Platinum is below 300
3) Xeon - Simon still remember Maggie YET Platinum only heard of her recently
4) Xeon - Simon are the only two who can spell Aaaaaarrrggghh exactly the same YET Platinum always gets it wrong
5) Xeon always calls Simon cute or something similar YET Platinum calls him a schemer

To be continued ...

That is interesting, but :
1. You are correct, yesterday evening I was just beginning to sum up all pro's and contra's but got no time yet to mention that fact alright.
2. That doesn't mean anything if indeed Xeon just recently created an alter ego to get rid of his previous childish imago. It is actually suspicious you are around 30 years and seem to behave the same as 18 year old (supposedly) Xeon yet you only discovered this forum recently.
3. I have never heard of a person named Maggie on this forum, only of a guy named Cakkie, if I'm not mistaking from Belgium too.
4. Incorrect : look over here (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201164&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) and here (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=201171&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) and compare the style of the word, Xeon usually adds ha ha ha and so and uses nearly always 1 a. Compare the number of a's,r's,g's,h's and .'s
5. Hmmm... I don't remember Xeon ever calling ME cute, on the contrary. Of the guys he named cute I can only call Amn with name, maybe proxima_centaur but the term he used for him was chubby, maybe cute too, don't remember.

Simon666

I don't think it is nonsense. Read the arguments, there are contra's but there are pro's too. I mean this seriously you know, I really think this could be. I do not intend to embarass you, I'm sorry, but to me it seems to make sense. If you ask me, I will remove all instances of your name however.

Well, I think I've removed all instances in my posts from this thread and of "Youngest Codeguru", but Xeon and Platinum have quoted me there frequently so they will have to remove it as well.I will send a PM to Xeon and Platinum to do this too.

I'm too tired to deal with Simon, for the last time.
Ok, ok, Platinum and Xeon are the same person, k?
Brad and Gabriel are the same person, k?

Satisfied now?

But Simon! U're the most interesting, funniest and more exciting person I've ever seen in Codeguru! U're too amusing! I laughed and laughed non-stop for 15 minutes! I......I......I really couldn't laugh anymore. My stomach muscles really hurts.

However, I do hope that Brad can clarify this using the IP addresses and the time pattern of the posting.

There should be some gap between the Platinum's last post for the day and my last post for the day.
Using this, it can be proven that Platinum and I ain't the same, cos' it's impossible for anyone to stay awake all 24 hours posting messages here. Even kids know that.

Also, the value of the IP addresses can easily tell the difference. It's impossible for a single person to be at 2 different locations at the same time.
Using 2 computers with different IP addresses in the same country is also impossible, cos' no one can post at such a speed.

Simon.......when it's time to be serious, u be.
When it's time to be crazy, u be.
But when it's not time to be too extreme, u don't.

The Great Beast......ahhhh.....I hail the power of Beelzebub into me!
Evil shall destory evil!!!!!!!

U've tried, and you've failed. None is a match for me. None.

Simon666
October 18th, 2002, 06:31 AM
However, I do hope that Brad can clarify this using the IP addresses and the time pattern of the posting. That proves nothing. You could have different computers, at school (or work) and at home.

And I saw Brad answering yesterday by looking 'Who's Online', so I prematurely posted something saying I hoped he could clear things out, but he apparently changed his mind. I don't think you can prove you are different looking at IP-numbers. Does that say something about the country, the IP number? I'm an engineer, not an informatic.

Using this, it can be proven that Platinum and I ain't the same, cos' it's impossible for anyone to stay awake all 24 hours posting messages here. Even kids know that.
I will investigate the times of your postings, for half an hour (I'm going home this afternoon already) and then after the weekend. If you are right, I will admit it truthfully monday at last.

October 18th, 2002, 06:39 AM
OK, in this post (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=610525#post610525) you post at the same time. But I think I can do this too: if you have seen my picture in one of the other threads (unless I cut a part out of it) you will see that there are 4 computers in my office. I can easily type a text on both and press enter at the same time. Although I admit this would be far fetched and difficult. But it is possible, and the IP-numbers of the computers would be different too, if anybody who knows something about this knows better, please enlighten me. I'm novice to IP numbers and stuff.

Gabriel Fleseriu
October 18th, 2002, 08:16 AM
You can use the IP-address to tell in which country the computer is located, for example with this. (http://www.location.com.my/free.asp) Of course there are ways to fool this mechanism, but it's not that easy.

JeffB
October 18th, 2002, 09:11 AM
Simon, your 4 computers will probably be from the same network, so they will have the same start of ip:

1) nnn.nnn.nnn.123
2) nnn.nnn.nnn.124
3) nnn.nnn.nnn.125
4) nnn.nnn.nnn.126

These nnn will tell in which country you are. If one of these computer is connected to an ISP of another country, then you'll pay phone calls fews, but you'll have a different IP ;)

The avatar is a Fox Squirrel (Sciurius Niger).
This picture is of a squirrel I call Lucy.

I've gone through about 120lbs of hazelnuts this year and copious quantities of walnuts and peanuts.

Just read more, see more and of course, write more. Writting English is darn important, u know.

Spoken English is useful, but I know of many people who excel at spoken English, but when it comes to written English, they're kinda poor.

But after all, relax. There's a lot of people who don't speak English as their native language. The more important thing is to have a good and kind heart. :):D

I think it is pretty simple to track Osama down. Make an exclusive videotape which looks like radical muslim propaganda showing the dead bodies of Australians and put over comments like "Death to the infidels" in Arab so it looks like a genuine radical muslim propaganda video. Inside the video, hide inside a very small device which can extract some of the energy of the VCR (definitely possible) and can send a signal which by triangulation can be located by satellites. Ensure it comes into the hands of suspicious fundamentalists in an unsuspicious way and label it "Exclusive - executive eyes only" or something. Next wait a bit and locate all VCR's where this tape is playing. Note : if it is copied immediately this would be a problem. But it is probably very cheap to implement so worth a try.

Anybody else has an idea?

Osama is nothing but a minion who serves the Devil indirectly.
U can only use Evil to deal with Evil, Darkness to deal with Darkness. What would be the final outcome when the Great Beast of HeIL meets mere mortal Osama? The former would win, of course.

Xeon says Osama is nothing but a minion who serves the Devil indirectly. I say What the HE double toothpicks did US do to Osama to get all this

Is he targetting anyone else besides the US ?

Any body know the history of the relationship between Osama and US

Xeon
October 31st, 2002, 12:39 AM
Well, from what I know, long in the past, the relationship of the US and the middle-east countries have been darn rocky, especially between the US and the civilians.(not all middle-east countries)

Osama, for some reason, has always hated Western civilisations and wanna destroy it's existence on earth. Of course, to him, the most challenging and most exciting country to spar with is the US, of course. So, needless to say, he did those acts under the name of Islam and there......u get the idea.

Sometimes, however, I don't understand why some civilians of Western countries wanna take it out on those Muslims who're in no way connected to terrorism and such. Just because a particular **** is ugly doesn't mean all are ugly, and just because a husband is unfaithful doesn't mean all hubbies are. That's the thing.

From the recent Bali blasts and incident, it's darn clear that Osama and his friends are gonna start a bombing party anytime, anywhere in S.E Asia targetting Westerners.
A guilty terrorist who got caught last year actually says they he hates Western landmarks and the reporter asked him :

"What if you injure or killed innocent people in the process?"

And his answer was that he doesn't care, cos' the Western army did that to his country too.

That's why.

But anyway, I guess Africa is the best of all places. The resources of terrorists are limited, and they definetly ain't gonna waste expensive bombs blowing up the Savannah where there's no Western-related stuff or any beneficial stuff.
All that exists in that Heart of Africa are the sweet lions, cute elephants, the marvellous wildbeests and the hyenas etc........alas........is this not the Garden of Eden??!!!

:o There were bombings in Kenya and Tanzania some years ago against the American embassy there probably by Al Qaeda causing hundreds of dead. This lead Bill Clinton back in the days to bomb Afghan training camps with cruise missiles. It surprises me you never heard of this Xeon and it surprises me even more of Platinum Plus, who claims to be African.

Yes, but Xeon's statements about Osama not going to waste efforts blowing things upin Africa are proven to be incorrect by me, while I think you should have been the first to correct him. Most victims were Africans, not Americans by the way. I'm doubting you are really from Africa. Which African country do you claim to live in?

Now, Simon.....I never said anything about the more populous parts of Africa! Notice I said Savannah. Are they gonna waste their resources blowing up lions and tigers with no humans?

That's crazy! I assure you,........Osama and his party would rather go and blow up some place in the world. :p:p:D

And about that guy in Simon's avatar... Fundamentalism has always been a problem. But then again, a religion doesn't make war, people do. (adapted freely from the simplistic saying that guns don't kill people but people do.)

Aha, this leads to the new theory that Platinum Plus is from Antarctica. See, in this post in the "Where are we from?" thread (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=618454&highlight=Antarctica#post618454) someone suggested to add Antarctica to the list, which is the most South of the Sahara, and since Yves says quite Platinum Plus is far south from the Sahara, this is the second clue. By deduction, we can conclude that this was probably because Platinum Plus is from Antarctica so adding that option would allow him to vote for his own continent. By even further deduction, after looking at the main inhabitants of Antarctica, we can conclude that for all I know Platinum Plus could be a penguin !!! :D Maybe I'm getting paranoid and all crazy again.  Then again, Linux is a penguin too. :D ;)

Please note, the latter is intended as joke, nobody should feel offended except maybe in the unlikely case Platinum Plus is a catholic nun. Then I would understand. I issue this warning because humorlous people wander around these forums. In order not to further offend them, no name calling will happen again.

It is Homerus and not Homer, and Homerus was a writer of the Oddyssea or how do you write it in English? He was not a philosopher like Plato. Homer may in this case refer to a character of the Simpsons. The 4 noble ego-lords of Codeguru are SolarFlare, PlatinumPlus, Simon666 and Xeon. Let's face it. :):D:D:)
