I need to give a presentation to members of my software team about some exciting or new technology. To Choose .NET is too general, it would have to be something specific. If anyone has any good suggestions please share them with me.

What software domain does your team aim to work for? (so people can recommend related technologies)

We are a Windows NT Shop, Using Visual C++, VB, ASP, And some web development. The topic can be basically anything in computing.

I would have recommended .NET anyway. :)

Here are other possibilities:

1. XML and Web Services
2. If your team is well-versed with ASP, upgrade them to ASP.NET (not too general, but quite specific, and it surely helps)
3. Similarly for VB.NET
4. How about a discussion on optimizing code + good coding habits? (Steve McConnell's "Code Complete" is still quite useful)
