Hi

I'm after any ideas on any software (or hardware) packages that may be out there which sort of act like PC-Anywhere but doesnt chew up bandwidth with screen info.

I'm not sure if thats clear, I hope it is.

My problem is this: I want remote access to any PC (TCP/IP) which I can access certain files. I'm not too concerned with security or any of the other bells and whistles right now but I do need a stable application for Win 98 or 2000 which doesnt take up too much CPU time.

It will be running in conjuction with another app which already hammers the CPU and it will need to transfer large amounts of data so PC-Anywhere is not good enough.

Any information/ideas/pointers will be greatly appreciated.

I'm using tightvnc (http://www.tightvnc.com/) which is an enhanced version of vnc (http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/). Both are freeware and are worse a try.

I have used VNC for a long time and find it extremely useful.

thanks

Just so happens that I was looking at VNC yesterday but the other guys here in the company found something called RADMIN which allegedly works heaps faster than PC-Anywhere.

I don't know if its better than VNC or not but their website claims that it is up to 30 times faster than VNC.

No idea if theres any truth to that yet...
