I apologise if this question has been asked before but I'm a newbie in need of some advice.
I'm going to be doing some web development in my work, mainly on a intranet of just over 300 employees. A while back I was persuaded that ColdFusion was the way to go.
But last week I got chatting to a consultant about web development and he suggested we go the .Net route.
Now I'm really confused. I've spent most of this morning surfing for info and I'm none the wiser now.
We run Windows 2000 Professional on our PCs, soon to be upgraded to XP and have a Windows 2000 server, presumably soon to be upgraded too. SQLServer 2000 is on the cards too.
So what would people recommend? Do I learn ASP.NET or CFML? I know I have a choice of languages with .net but I think I would prefer ASP.NET to say, C# or C++.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
