Windows .NET Server Release Candidate was made available today. (See CodeGuru announcements for a link to where you can get it - www.codeguru.com ).

Anybody have any opinions on it?

So far, I've been having trouble determining the use for .Net. I only know a couple of things about it.

The .Net framework allows the use of multiple versions of dll's on the same system. The correct version of dll will run with the correct application. This seems to be a software packaging issue.

Microsoft Passport can be used for authentication. This is a no-no in my mind. (and might not be true *shrugs*)

I'm quite ignorant on the subject. But, in this case, I blame Microsoft. If they would quit putting their own spin and nomenclature on things, they might be more understandable.
