Hi!!
My PC has been quickly installed. I have to face several problems.

(1) As a user on the network domain, I can't install anything on my PC (it says I don't have administrator provileges to do so).
So I installed it (MSDN) logged as administrator on the same domain. But I'm using Visual Studio from my user account, and can't access the MSDN I installed.
why?
Is there a way to make the link between VC++ and MSDN (you know, when you press F1, it's MSDN that opens)?

(2) I can't open any Office application through the Start menu. It asks for a user name and password, and my usual user name and password are not accepted. But when I double-click on a document, the application opens.

Thanks for any hint to help me, since my systems administrators are waiting for a training, eventually.

Marina

For my first question I have just found the solution (after 1,5 week of wondering). In the Help menu of MSVC, I needed to un check the item "Use extension Help".

That was all.

For my second question, I'm still counting...

Marina

Add your user account into the Local Administrators group.

It is.
And It has always been. That's what we do not understand how being in this group I don't have the privileges.

I can't think of any reason for that symptom other than the Office applications are running off of network shares.

If the Office installation was custom engineered, this would be possible. If Office was installed from an original CD, I don't see how the problem could occur with your ID being a local administrator.

When I double click on a document (.doc, .ppt, .xls) it opens the proper application. It is only when I try to open them through the Start Menu that I'm asked the username and password.

Very strange.

The thing is that I would like to solve it without giving them my computer to completely reinstall, since it can take them a lot of time. If it is possible, of course.

Thanks
