I put this in the feedback section as well. Since there were several questions here, I though I'd post it here as well:
Adding an Avatar:
(1) create a graphic image to use as your avatar. (50x50 pixels < 20,000 bytes)
(2) Go to User Control Panel (User CP button)
(3) Select Edit Options
(4) At the bottom of the Edit Options page is an Avatar section (last item).
Select the 'Change Avatar' button on the right.
(5) You'll be taken to the avatar options. The bottom box will allow you to upload an image to the be used as an avatar. You can type in the path and directory on your machine or use the browse button. You can also pull an image from a web page by entering a URL in the appropriate box.
(6) You need to tell the system to use the avatar. Do this by selecting the YES radio button for "Use Custom Avatar". If you don't select this, then the avatar won't show.
