Recently a new programming position has become available where I work. The standard advertisment is as follows:
Graduate software engineer, Sirius.
Sirius wish to recruit a Graduate Software Engineer to join our development team. The successful applicant will be responsible for working on new and existing software projects. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic design team using the latest in software and robotics technology.
Computer or Electronics graduates will be considered provided the equivalent of 1 years experience has been gained from a degree sandwich course. Essential skills are C/C++, OO design methods, and database design on MS Windows Platforms. Any experience of MFC, COM/COM+, UNIX systems and embedded systems engineering would be an advantage but is not essential.
Good communication skills will be required as you will be working within a concurrent engineering environment and will have to liaise with staff and customers at all levels. As part of your remit, you will be required to research each of your projects and formally report project specifications. You should be able to work to clearly defined goals and tight deadlines.
Our offices are located in Forest Row, East Sussex in an area of outstanding natural beauty, yet close to East Grinstead with direct trains to London. Sirius offers a competitive salary, non-contributory life assurance scheme, and a personal pension scheme.
