Hello,
I have to install about 30 identical PCs with Windows 2000. Is it possible to install W2k on one Computer create an image on the Server and then restore it on the other PCs without any conflicts (different host-names, IDs,...)
Do You know a software which could help me?
Thanks.

Hi,
It is possible to do this, I would suggest that all thirty pc's have the same hardware configuration as setting up an image and restoring it to pc's with different hardware might cause conflicts. The software you are looking is called Ghost, I'm not sure if it is freeware or where you could get it but I'm sure a quick search at Google might return the neccessary results. Ghost creates an identical image of a pc and it can then be restored to your other 30 pc's.

p.s. there will be some manual setup required ie: Setting up network settings, etc as this will cause conflicts on a network if say the pc name and ip address are the same. But this should still be easier and quicker than setting up 30 pc's individualy
