download cygwin. You can practice your shell
scripting on a Windows box...

Hi.

The big difference bet Unix and Linux is that currently Unix OS is developed by 5 or 6 companies, but Linux is a opened source and therefore Linux may be said to have only one set enviorment and command.

That is, if we use a different company Unix OS, set enviorment may be different and the command may not be same. Linux overcomes this disadvantage and the basic price is free. Red Hat added its software
and sells Red Hat Linux about $60.
