I have a problem booting my Windows NT 4.0 machine. I just get the error message 'A kernel file is missing.' This happens even before the NT Bool menu appears.
I already tried to repair the NT system via the NT setup, further I tried to install another NT system on another partition of the harddisk, further I restored the master boot record via the programm 'DiskProbe' that comes with the NT Resource Kit. I still have the same situation.
Could this be a hardware problem?
It seems that the partition and file system itself is still ok because I can boot the NT via a Boot disk.
Who knows more about this situation or maybe had some similar problems?
Thanks for your support,
Bernhard
