CapitolSoft Corporation has announced today
the release of CapitolSoft RadVC for
Microsoft Visual C++, an add-in that lets a
Visual C++ programmer work in a Visual
Basic-like Rapid Application Development
(RAD) environment. Using RadVC in any
existing or future Visual C project can
achieve a significant amount of
productivity enhancement.
RadVC emulates the same look and feel of
Visual Basic, the world's most popular RAD
IDE (Integrated Development Environment).
RadVC's forms and controls have the same rich
set of properties, methods and events that
are used by Visual Basic. Furthermore, RadVC
incorporates a new VB - like coding
technology that allows a programmer to assign
and retrieve form and controls' properties at
run-time in an easy-to-understand format
(<control>.<property>=<value>).
Since forms and controls used by RadVC are
based on a C++ library (called RAD Foundation
Class or "RFC"), they are powerful and
flexible, yet extremely easy to use. Unlike
ActiveX controls, these controls can be
enhanced by adding advanced features to them.
CapitolSoft is committed to roll out more of
these easy-to-use C++ controls in its future
RadVC releases. RadVC also allows a user to
insert and use a great number of ActiveX
controls in the project. The generated C++
wrapper classes for ActiveX controls also
support VB-like simplified coding technology.
Other RadVC features include visual
database, powerful OLE Drag-and-Drop,
advanced IntelliSense , Dynamic DataExchange
(DDE), full online help and many more.
Along with enabling C++ programmers to
write powerful GUI front ends quickly and easily,
RadVC will also help the large community of
Visual Basic programmers to learn and master
how to write great Windows applications in C++.
Currently a huge gap (an order of magnitude)
exists in the number of users of these two popular
products. RadVC will help to reduce that gap by
merging the ease of Visual Basic with the power
of Visual C++.
RadVC works with both Visual C++ v.5 and
Visual C++ v.6. A fully functional evaluation
copy can be downloaded free from Capitolsoft's
web site. Registered users of RadVC will receive
at least one year of technical support, free upgrades
and service releases. The introductory price for
Capitolsoft RadVC (including RFC library) is
$99 and can be purchased electronically at
the Capitolsoft's web site.
