I am looking for any information you can give me about MSComm (Microsoft's Communication Control). I would especially like to find a resource that documents its use. Also, I noticed that it was posted inregards to comctl32.dll that in order to distribute the application using it, the whole IE program had to be passed with it. Is there something like that that I should be aware of in regards to this tool? (copywrights and all that)

My purpose in using this tool is to use an inexpensive way of giving my Visual FoxPro application the ability to connect to the user's modem, dial out, connect and logon to the host, send/receive a simple text file, and logoff. If there is another way or media you suggest, I am open to hearing it.

Thank you for any ideas or suggestions you can give.

In my search for documentation, I have found an outline of the control at:
www.yes-tele.com
click on "Microsoft Access Caller ID Software"
then click on "MSComm"

This documentation is the same that I found in an official MS VB5 ActiveX Controls Reference.

Best Wishes : )
