I'm having someone write me an ASP script for my website. He explained to me that generally, ASP uses SQLserver or Access, while PHP uses MySQL. Unfortunately, he doesn't know PHP sufficiently to write the script in that language, so he's doing it in ASP. He doesn't know how to couple ASP and MySQL. So my options are SQLserver and Access. My hosting plan doesn't support SQLserver, and Access isn't good enough for my intentions.

Does anyone here know how to use ASP with MySQL? If so, please get in touch with me asap. My E-mail is Sm1L3y@hotmail.com.

I'll try and check back here often to see if anyone has been gracious enough to share their expertise.

Thank you

If your amount of data isn't large and you have the ability to write a text file, you can always store your information into an XML text file too..... Not optimal, but an alternative.

I can suggest two websites that can help you out:

http://www.dwam.net/mysql/ - everything for ASP with mySQL

http://www.learnasp.com - has some sections on mySQL access as far as I remember

Please do provide your feedback about the above websites so others can benefit from it.

Thanks.
