I'm currently a hardware designer, and getting
terribly bored of my career. I want to get into
programming, contracting to be specific. I've
had part-time jobs in the past, doing Java, SQL,
CGI, HTML, J2ME, CodeWarrior, Perl.. etc....
My question is, how is the contract environment
like, especially with all these layoffs to .com
company's? I'm not worried about the benefits,
because my wife's job can take care of that, I'm
more worried about going months without having
a contract. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated, thanks in advance.
