Hi,

Does anyone know what is the standard requirements (if any) for a distributing a shareware/freeware package?? i.e. Must is have a sort of readme file?? If so, what must this file contain?? Also, what is this copyright thing in shareware/freeware??

Sorry for the flood of questions. I am just interested in knowing more about how to distribute a shareware/freeware on the net. Any help would be appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge there are no real standards. You can pretty much do whatever you want, but I'd recommend at least a Readme file. As for the copyright and/or warranty disclaimer statements, there's probably an example or two somewhere around the Web. Or you could craft your own after looking at the wording in some others.

But basically, it's whatever you want to do.

Unless you're going to go Open Source. There is a guideline for that:
