Hi,
I know there must be lots of senior software developers out there who might be able to help. I've just taken on my first programming position. I have extensive C++ academic background and a little Visual C++/MFC practical experience. Now I've been chucked into the real world of software development, working with 3 other guys (non-programmers) on a small scale application due for launch mid next year. Despite feeling anxious at all the work to be done, can anyone advise me on:
1/ I've previously used Booch/UML notation. What design methodology do you recommend to go with this? I need something suited to a small project, without too much paper work (as Ã*'ll be the one doing the documentation)
2/ The project has extensive interface with hardware, a little communication protocol and the need to save images in some form of database. Is programming in MFC up to this? Or should I try and learn something else?
3/ Is there any other advice you can offer? (Like where do I start?) Because there is no mentor here for me, its both exciting in that I have a lot of freedom yet daunting in that there is no one to seek for leadership.
I thank you sincerely for any advice...
