My son is 22-month-old, he is not talking yet. But he idiot to computer, he could spend more than three hours a day to play Disney game by himself. I am afraid he will get near-sighted soon, so I always try to stop him playing. But he cries every time when I try to stop him. I bought him lots of toys, but he doesn’t like to play. Whenever he sees a computer, he will spend time to play the computer for a while. If you are parent, what will you do? How long I can let my baby playing his computer game for? (He can sit there playing more than an hour without moving around) How can I protect his eyes? Baby in his age is it OK to play the computer? Your advice is very important to me.

You should be in control to tell him it's not OK. He is too young to computer screen.
Let him cry for a while. He will stop if he knows it's not effective, otherwise he will be your boss.

Accoding to me, you should send your baby to a baby-farming house, so you are able pleasure with your baby! And your baby have to obey with the order there!

Let the kid play. He will grow up become the lead developer of an multi-billion dollar Internet Company some day. Why are computers so much worse than toys, TV, or other diversions?

I don't think I've ever heard of a 2 year old playing that much computer. I'm 20 and spend way too much time on computers. If I were you, I'd keep my computer off unless you are using it. I agree with the other person who posted here... you are the boss and you can decide what your boy should be doing. If you don't like him playing so much computer, just turn it off.

The problem is not about to let the baby play whith computer or not.(Eventually you will buy him a laptop or a LCD display to protect his eyes).
The problem is that the baby does not listen to you.
Have more time to spend with him, show him all the love you have for him or he will love a computer instead of you.
Ask your mom, ask some friends with children.
And most important is to not spoil the child in compensation for the time you don't have to spend with him.

I think the best thing you could do for your son is to get him around other kids his age. This will encourage him to speak and to play. As for his crying when you take him away form the computer., it may be annoying to hear the crying but you should limit the amount of time the chld spends in front of a machine. Find other ways to entertain him, move the computer so that it isn't easy to get to.
be patient.

i have a daughter myself (she is 21 months) she plays with her elmo game on my computer whenever I alow it; not whenever she wants. Take your child outside in the open air instead of being in the house all day long.

Some 20 years ago, little babies were allowed to "draw" their coulered little ideas on paper and spend hours with. When they had the "build in" need to take some air, they took air ! I will never agree with people that state you have to take the computer away, since you are still the BOSS. The child only wants to develop its skills and interests, and you should help it to deploy that skills for its future. First, a computer is not a drug, so it will not get "overcomputered". Secondly, provide it with a LAPTOP and LCD screen so that it ( the child ) does not get X-rayed by the static and magnetic radiations. His eyes won't be damaged by the small pictures and figures, they can only get tired, in which case the child will stop playing all by itself. BUT : provide it with some software that stimulates its intelligence and watch how it reacts on more or less complex interactive programs. Try to find some soft that stimulates its creativity, most educative programs of today are poor garbage and below any level for children with normal intellectual skills. The child must at least learn that the computer should become a handy tool for all kinds of intellectual activity and that the computer is not just a simple jack pot.
