Developing PACS

Hi,

Is there anyone who is developing the PAVCS, Picture Archive & Communication System. or is interested by such project.

It's my current job, so I would like to share my experence with you.

I am currently developing for a PACS system being rewritten in MFC C++. I am having a terrible time with images. Specifically, I am writing a routine that obtains the pixel data from a DICOM image and converts it (whatever the format) to 8 bit DIB which then compresses it to Wavelet. I have to perform the vise verse as well. Do you work with DICOM? I am lost by it. I understand the concept, but it would take me 40 years to read the manuals or understand some of my company's existing code! Shoot me!

You perform an excellent project. I am a graduated student majoring in Medical Physics.
I have to convert TIFF/DIB images to DICOM images including Patient information.
It makes me crazy, so I would like to learn your enough experience.
