I am completely new to C#. I have programed a number of years in VC, ATL, and VB and wnat to start looking at .NET and C#, etc. Can someone suggest a few books or other material to help get up to coding speed. I am one of those guys that prefers examples.

Thanks

Okay, since I am the site manager I can get away with a shameless plug....

On October 19th (give or take a day), Sams will publish Sams Teach Yourself C# in 21 Days. This is a great book (I'm biased) for learning C# from the ground up. The ISBN is 0-672-32071-1. When it publishes, I'll add the book to the book list on this site.

In the mean time, there are several okay books on C# and .NET with more coming every week. In the announcements section on the front of code guru there is a link to a list of the books that I am currently aware of that have been published on .NET. Take a look there for other suggestions. If there is a book that looks good and you want to know how good it is, let me know in this thread and I'll tell you what I know (I have or have seen most of the books).

Don't buy a beta one book. Beta 2 books are fine for .NET, ASP.NET, and C#. The Visual Studio titles will all have changes between beta 2 and final release.
