How do I get asp pages located on a web server to communicate with SQL Server on an application server through a firewall?

The http seems to work fine but the results of the queries are not returned and the page times out.

This is a trick one so I'll buy the solution provider a pint of Guinness next time he/she is in Ireland.

Thanks

My only suggestion is to set the Server.ScriptTimeOut property to a higher number and the server wait a little longer. I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but that's the first "band-aid" fix that popped into my head.

if you're not familiar with this property, set it at the top of the ASP page, under the @Language directive.

good luck,

John
